I hope that everyone had a good and relaxing time this Easter, visiting with family and loved ones.

I am certainly happy that this gloomy winter is ending. The sun has arrived back in our little world in the UK, and I spent much of the weekend sitting outside in the garden stitching some of my crafts.

Finnish Folk Rya Rugs

My passion for Rya rugs continues. Since the flexibility and strength of my right arm is improving, I have returned to my looms, so I will be making rya rug kits again. These will be fairly small in size (40-60 cm width)

I have collected a few wonderful books on the Finnish folk ryas, so I thought I might try to reproduce a few of these. I now have a good supply of organic wool yarns that are suitable for rya, as well as several natural dyes, so these rya will all be made the traditional way.

I have been an Etsy Seller for >10 years. With some sadness I have decided to reduce the amount of handmade I sell through Etsy and sell more via my own Web Shop at Paivatar.com.
